About Baker Soccer united
Baker Soccer United is a 501(c)3 formed to provide an opportunity for our community to develop and grow by fostering a welcoming, enjoyable, and safe soccer environment for all. The current project is to build the facility depicted in the attachments above. This facility will include home and visiting locker rooms, public restrooms, concession stand, observation room, equipment storage and a paved parking lot with lights.
Short Story: BSU was started in 2020. We struggled through COVID and lost our executive director but persevered. We also delayed while the School District promoted two bond levies to dispel any confusion between us and the school district’s fund raising. We now have a full set of plans, conditional use permit (to build next to the existing soccer fields), memorandum of understanding with Baker 5J, a dedicated board of 3, a logo, and cash on hand of around $150,000 with no outstanding bills. To complete phase one will require another $200,000 +\-, an expanded board, enthusiastic booster group, fund raising events, and general promotion. Total project cost cash project cost estimated at $3.5MM.
